About the program

• There will be an opening concert in the VCPA at 1:00p.m. for all participants, parents, and guests. Admission is free. Concert will feature faculty and staff artists in solo and ensembles

• Young bassists will be divided into three groups.

• The Advanced beginners group will include young bassists who have played 1 or 2 years.

• The Upper Division course is designed for bassists who have played more than two years and are currently in high school or have just graduated H.S..

• The College Residency (work study) program will include college age students of advanced level who will participate as future staff in training. They will assist with some private lessons, playing in some small and large ensembles and work with the GGBC staff and faculty. They will receive tuition scholarships (not including room and board) and must apply for this program.

• Students should bring at least one solo piece to play for master classes and private lessons. Other exercises, scale materials, orchestra repertoire and ensemble music will be provided.

• A farewell concert will be performed for parents and friends at the conclusion of camp Sunday afternoon July 25th at 3:00p.m. in the Valley Center of Performing Arts.

• Students in the program will attend a concert at Yoshi's at no additional cost.

• STUDENTS IN THE GGBC ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL CLASSES AND EVENTS OF GGBC AND ABIDE BY ALL CAMP RULES.
